The grape Grignolino takes its name from its seeds, the "grignole": in this particular grape there is one more seed compared to any other varietals.  The color is never plain, it ranges from pink to fuchsia to violet.  The clones of ancient memory produced very compact bunches with a hard consistency; today, after the errors of the seventies that favored big, high producing bunches, we are returning to the old cultivar.  The wine Grignolino is not a rose' as its erroneously thought.  It is considered the most white amongst the reds and the most red amongst the whites.  

It pairs splendidly with crustaceans, raw fish or lightly seasoned white meats.
