2011 Cascina Morassino Dolcetto D Alba
Our Price:
$19.99
Producer: Cascina Morassino
Vintage: 2011
Region: Piemonte
Sub-Region: Alba DOC
Varietal: Dolcetto (100%)
Color: Red Dolcetto is one of the unsung heroes of Piemonte, but is always rather ignored unjustifiably. Made by motorcycle fiend Roberto Bianco, it captures the typical style and robustness of Dolcetto from Alba. A delicious, full, juicy red with a lovely redcurrant on the palate and a most attractive roundness on the finish.

$57.99
Producer: Gianfranco Alessandria
Vintage: 2004
Region: Piemonte
Varietal: Nebbiolo (45%), Barbera (40%), Dolcetto (15%)

Linsieme is a group founded in 1977 by eight small producers of the Langa, where each company creates its own Insieme: a blend of wines where whose components are up to the producer, traditional grapes such as Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, and both varieties imported recently as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. Linsieme is a project where for every bottle produced a percentage is donated in a solidarity fund that finances various development initiatives around the world. Aging for 18 months in new French oak, and 8 months in the bottle before release, this wine has an intense garnet color that recalls red fruit wrapped in spices and compact flavors.
