2015 is an excellent vintage forItalian wines. This wine is made from 60% Nerello Mascalese and 15% Nerello Cappuccio, 15% Nocera, and the prince of Sicilian grapes, 10% Nero D'Avola. It ages 12 months in barriques and then 6-9 months in bottle. Obli is a wine with a light flavor supported by the freshness of the Nerello Mascalese that in Faro DOC takes on the complexity and a particular authenticity. The Nocera gives Obli a brilliant bouquet and the Nero D'Avola gives a structure and the "Sicilian nerve" that only Nero D'avola can convey to the wines of Sicily.
An intense and beautiful nose, the balance of dark fruits like blackberry and black cherry, with delicate spices like vanilla, licorice dance on the palate complemented by succulent tannins, hints of cinnamon with a long finish.
Will Pair well with Grilled Red Meats, Roasts, mushroom and truffle and hard cheese.
