The history of the farm dates back to late 15th century. Today it is no longer owned by the Capponi family but by another aristocratic family, Rousseau Colzi, who seriously extended the agricultural business here in the 1930's. They produce several types of wine and olive oil, and they grow corn and sunflowers on their 500 hectares of land. During the past few years, the family has extended their activities to include renting out a range of apartments found either on the farm itself or on the nearby farm, Podere Masso which is only 300m away. The apartments on the farm have private terraces just outside their doors, whilst the apartments at Podere Masso have access to outdoor tables and chairs in the garden on the other side of the road. It isn't a busy road, but some vehicles do pass now and then. This spectacular setting is the landscape that inspired the Taviani brothers to film 'La Notte di San Lorenzo' in this area.
