This wine is a blend of the following varieties: 70% Sangiovese, Sagrantino 15%, 5% Barbera and 5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Adanti produces this wine near the ancient Roman town of Bevagna with its gorgeous 8th-century church. The wine is fermented for 15 days, then stays on the skins for 4-5 days and afterward remains in oak barrels for 12 months before bottling.
It’s a bright garnet red with some cherry color reflections. The nose is subtle but rich with aromas of cherries, blackberry, plums, and violets.
The palate is luscious with back cherry, berries, a bit of leather, tobacco, currants, and notes of balsamic balanced by velvety tannins and vivid acidity. Pairs well with savory and grilled meat dishes, and mature cheeses.
