2010 Giralamo Dorigo Pinot Grigio
Our Price:
$16.99
Producer: Dorigo
Vintage: 2010
Region: Friuli-Venezia Giula
Sub-Region: Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC
Varietal: Pinot Grigio
Color: White
Although pinot grigio is now planted throughout both the New and Old Worlds, the best pinot grigios are still a product of northern Italy. The glacial influence of the Italian Alps provide pristine growing conditions with mineral-rich soil, excellent drainage and a long, cool growing season.
Dorigo’s Pinot Grigio comes from Friuli, the northeastern region of Italy near the Slovenian border. After harvesting the grapes, Dorigo ferments the must in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, leaving the wine in contact with the fine lees for several months. In this way, it acquires mineral notes and a distinctive, terroir-driven personality. Malolactic fermentation has not been carried out.
This pinot grigio has elements of tropical fruit structured with great acidity and a medium body. It is a truly food-flexible wine that will pair well with light appetizers and full-bodied fish first courses.
2010 Giralamo Dorigo Ribolla Gialla
Our Price:
$17.99
Producer: Dorigo
Vintage: 2010
Region: Friuli-Venezia Giula
Sub-Region: Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC
Varietal:Ribolla Gialla
One of the most ancient of the varieties native to Friuli, Ribolla Gialla probably originates from the hill country on the border between Italy and Slovenia. Its large, generous bunches ripen to golden yellow and, in Friuli, their wine is made in various styles.
Some winemakers vinify to lay the wines down for a while, Dorigo on the other hand creates a light, refreshing wine, with fresh varietal aromas. They do this because they "adore the symphony of fruit aromas Ribolla Gialla releases after vinification in stainless steel tanks, without malolactic fermentation."
Appetizers and light first courses (both with poultry and fish) are great food pairings.

Dorigo produces excellent white wines from Colli Orientali del Friuli, and their Sauvignon is no exception. This wine is produced in 100% stainless steel and vinified at low temperatures. The result is a fresh and crisp Sauvignon that still has weight to its body. This wine is excellent with light vegetable dishes and appetizers.
Dorigo Brut Metodo Classico
Our Price:
$21.99
Producer: Dorigo
Region: Friuli-Venezia Giula
Varietal: Pinot Noir (50%), Chardonnay (50%)
A favorite wine, it has been in production at Dorigo winery for 20 years. The base wines are 50% Pinot Noir vinified without the skins and 50% Chardonnay, fermented in French oak barriques being used for thee third time. The wines are put through full maloloactic fermentation and bottle fermentation takes place according to the method Champenoise. The wine is then left on the fermentation lees for 24 months before it is disgorged and released on the market.
A very versatile sparkling with many pairings. Great as an apertif, perfect with white meat, first courses and fish and shellfish appetizers.
