Romanelli is an organic farm and vineyard in Umbria’s Montefalco region. Since 1978, they have devoted themselves to their agriculture and environment by incorporating sustainable farming practices in order to leave the least possible environmental footprint. Their farming philosophy follows beautifully into their winemaking practices, as they believe their wines should be a true expression of the land and biodiversity of Montefalco. 2007 Romanelli Predara

Hand harvested and aged for a short time in French oak, this wine is ruby red and elegantly fruity on the nose. Predara is dry and slightly tannic, and it pairs well with grilled meats and semi-mature cheeses.

Montefalco Rosso is a fantastic wine produced in true Romanelli fashion. The grapes are handpicked from the their organic Montefalco vineyards and carefully sorted to select their highest quality grapes. After destemming and pressing, the must is obtained to start the fermentation process with a controlled temperature and frequent pumping and delestage. The maceration on the skins last between 30-45 minutes before the wine is racked and aged in 225 and 2500 Litre French oak barrels for 12 months. The wine is blended, filtered and bottled for two months before release.

Romanelli’s Montefalco Rosso is a deep red and violet with a bouquet of jam, dry fruit, cherries, vanilla and licorice. It is elegant, soft, balanced and persistent with even tannins.
