2005 Carminucci Paccaossa
Our Price:
$39.99
Producer: Carminucci
Vintage: 2005
Region: Le Marche
Varietal: Montepulciano (100%)
Color: Red
Carminucci is a winery on the southeastern coastal edge of Le Marche, and (like its close neighbor, Abruzzo, to the south) produces many wines from Montepulciano, Sangiovese and various white wine grapes. The winery was founded in 1928 by Giovanni Carminucci, and continues to craft high quality wines that represent Le Marche under the direction of Giovanni’s son. Although they are an older winery, they use only modern technology to produce fantastic red, white and rose wines as well as olive oil.
Paccaossa is produced from 100% Montepulciano grapes, which are determined as the best of Carminucci’s vineyards. The wine spends 18 months in the barrel and 6 months in the bottle before it is released, and the result it a full-bodied, persistent wine with a deep red color and a strong bouquet of cherry and oak nuances. This wine has a great structure and a long, long finish.
It is a good idea to open this wine a couple hours before drinking it. Once it has opened up, pair this wine with steak, strong cheese or heavy sausage dishes.
