Description

Castello di Castellengo is located at the foot of Monte Rosa in the Alpine chain, in northern Piemonte in the region of Biella. Centovigne is a modern winery with historic roots, started in 1999 yet the wines are produced as they were in the 17 century. The DOC of Coste della Sesia presents unique climatic characteristics, positively affected by the presence of the Monte Rosa behind the Po Valley laid out below. The sandy/clay soils of Mottalciata especially give the wines a particular mineral complexity and a longevity.

The grapes for the 2010 Rosso are grown in several vineyards in Mottalciata: Drumma, Santa Maria and Alpina. The soil found in these vineyards is acid rich laced with mineral and trace elements of clay. 70% Nebbiolo, 20% Croatina, 10% Uva rara.

Fresh and lively nose with a touch of balsamic. Fig, plum and cassis aromas are confirmed on the medium-bodied palate, perfect with medium aged Cheese, Salami and Pasta.
