The Montepulciano DOC Testarossa 2011 Magnum 1.5 Lt
eye-catching name and stunning bottle, with a leather label, opens up to
thick plum scents, a rounded rich fruit taste and elegant tannins. It
is made through a more rigorous harvesting, usually two weeks later than
the other Montepulciano, and from vines with a little more age. It
follows the same fermentation in stainless steel, but barrique ageing is
done in 20 litres casks as opposed to 60. So there is a little more
oak, although more time for bottle age is allowed for the oak and the
fruit to come together. With good soft structure and long lasting persistence. Compliments red meat, strong cheeses, wild boar, tripe and lamb. This fantastic wine with a special Fontana design bottle never fails to impress!
