Like the Grave region in Bordeaux, Friuli Grave takes its name from its gravelly soils. However, that’s where the comparison more or less ends. This Is a large flat central area of Friuli -Venezia-Guilia. Making Briccolo Merlot 2016 starts with a maceration of the grapes of about 20 days at a temperature of 28° C. During the first 3 days of contact the temperature is maintained under 10° C to increase the fruity aroma. Refining in tonneau of 500 Lt. for about 10-12 months, then 4 months in steel tanks and 6 months in bottle. The result is this great Meditation wine with Balsamic and vanilla scent and strongly reminiscent of pepper and nutmeg with sensations of tea flowers and dried fruit, all these perfumes are harmonized by hints of wood and leather cherry. It can be perfectly combined with meats both white and red, roasts, games, seasoned cheeses.
