Cascina Morassino is one of the oldest producers of Barbaresco yet manages to slip largely under the radar. With a total of only 3.5 ha of vines in production, 2016 Barbaresco is a fantastic vintage, which comes from the tiny but prestigious vineyard. Having been aged in barrique and with greater density of fruit.
"Black-skinned berry, wild herb, and rose aromas align with whiffs of cracked pepper and toasted spice. The full-bodied palate delivers juicy black cherry, raspberry jam, vanilla, and tobacco while firm, fine-grained tannins provide the backbone. Fresh acidity lifts the finish. Great structure and depth." Kerin O’Keef Wine Enthusiast.
It is seductive and long, it will give immense pleasure at so many different stages of its life. Enjoy it with Duck, Rissotto, quail, and aged cheeses.
