2016 is an excellent vintage for most Italian wines. The Enza La Fauci vineyard is located in the Messina in Sicily, where the wine is made from 100% Nerello Mascalese. This beautiful and rare Sicilian variety of red wine has a medium body.
Dorata goes through long maceration on the skins at a controlled temperature with the malolactic fermentation. Then it is aged for 18 months in barriques. The Vigna Dorata has a persistent minerality reminiscent of Mediterranean vegetation with notes of thyme, myrtle, and dried orange skin. Will pair well with Poultry or pork with roasted tomato or red pepper with spices like oregano, coriander, and sage.
