The 2011 was a fantastic vintage for Tenutarossa. This is a powerful, rich and complex wine, made with 100% Montepulciano grapes from 40 year old vines, aged for 18 months in small French oak barrels. Visually, the wine has a rich red color that is both bold and beautiful. This wine has a complex bouquet of ripe red fruit and dark berries combined with an earthy intrigue framed by hints of toasty oak, tobacco spices, vanilla and cinnamon. Well rounded with a good, soft structure and a long, full finish where the richness and complexity dominate. Pairs well with grilled red meat, strongly seasoned or herbal cheeses, sausage, and lamb
