Chiusa is made from Antonelli's paramount Sagrantino di Montefalco, made from the best selection massale grafts on rootstock. This wine is stored in lightly toasted barrels for 6 months, oak barrels for 15 months, clarified in cement vats for 3 months and finally aged in the bottle for two years. A very tannic and rustic wine, it will pair ideally with red meats and hearty dishes. "Deep ruby. Explosive aromas of sweet, ripe red cherry, chocolate-covered plum, violet and cappuccino. Enters rich and suave, then turns somewhat more austere, offering lovely purity to its red fruit and sweet baking spice flavors.
