The 2016 Quartomoro Memorie di Vite is made from 100% Cannonau or (Grenache in Franch) grapes from 65-year-old vines grown on vineyards that are planted on sandy and granitic soil vineyards in the Province of Oristano in Western Sardegna. The grapes are hand-harvested, fermented using only wild yeasts for a period of 7 days, the unfiltered wine is then aged in stainless steel barrels for 6 months, then in fourth use barriques and bottle fined for at least 6 months in the bottle prior to release. In the glass, it is a light burgundy red color. On the nose, it shows aromas of dark berry fruits, balsamic, and a hint of cooking spices. The palate is lush with flavors of ripe dark berries, currants, dried fruits, and spices along with soft persistent tannins and a long finish. This wine will pair well with stewed and Grilled Meats, fatty fish, Assorted Salumi, Meaty Pasta Dishes, and Aged Cheeses.
