The name Ambruco is a linguistic contamination of vitis labrusca - wild vine; there is a place near Castel Campagnano of the same name, where centuries-old wild vines used to grow, and local peasants considered them almost holy because of their age.
Produced from 100% Pallagrello Nero, this wine is powerful and elegant, with a full body and a deep ruby color. The nose is a sequence of notes of wild berries, black pepper, chocolate, and a hint of balsamic. The taste is harmonious and very balanced, a trail spiced with flavors of blackberries and blueberries followed by long finish with hints of spice and silky smooth tannins.
Pairs well with grilled meats, pork and aged cheeses.
