The Nardalici is one of the best Etna Rosso you can find, a blend of 85% Nerello Mascalese and 15% Nerello Cappuccio, grown at 2300 ft elevation in Sicily's famed Etna region.The vineyards have an average age of over 85 years and are cultivated with the alberello-trained system on a ground which has formed from the crumbling of lava types of different ages .
A translucent ruby in the glass with aromas of red fruit and dust. Dark fruit flavors are in the background with earthy flavors predominating along with leather and minerals. The wine has a medium body and nice acidity. Tannins are very gripping and the wine finishes with both lingering flavor and tannins. It will pair well with pork sausages, grilled meats, cold cuts, medium aged cheeses.
