This elegant wine is a blend of the following varieties: 70% Sangiovese, 15% Sagrantino, 5% Barbera, 5% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Adanti produces this refined wine near the ancient Roman town of Bevagna, with its gorgeous 8th century church. Fermented for 15 days, it stays on the skins for 4-5 days afterwards, and then remains in oak barrels for 12 months before bottling. It has a bright garnet red color with some cherry reflections.
On the nose, it is subtle but rich with aromas of ripe cherries, blackberries, plums, and violets.
The palate is fresh and lush with black cherry, wild berries, hints of leather, tobacco, currants and balsamic notes. Balanced by supple tannins and bright acidity, it is further livened up by a good sapidity, and has a smooth long finish. Pair it with savory and grilled meat dishes, and mature cheeses.
