Corte Rugolin is the name of an old manor house of the late 1600's, this
property, owned by Count Nuvoloni, was purchased in 1971 by Silvia and
Bruno Coati whose family had been making wine since 1918. The vineyards
are in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, a soil ideal for the
production of grapes, cherries and olives. Originally this wine was obtained from the RECIE, italian word meaning ears which represents the small bunches of grapes from which it takes its name. It has an intense but delicate bouquet of iris, a violet, wild roses, cherries and wild cherries. This a typical dessert wine, ideal with Pandoro, shortbread, other biscuits and with chocolate.
