Deep ruby color with a mouthwatering bouquet of red cherry, flowers, chalk, and mint add aromatic intensity and brightness of great vintage wine. On the Palate it opens with flavors of dark berry fruits, earthy spice, black currants balanced by the superior structure of lengthy tannins, good acidity brisk minerality and a persistent finish, which reflect the typical characteristics of the appellation of Monforte. It will pair well with Feathered Game, Venison, Lamb, Raw Meat Tartare, Truffled Risotto, Meaty Pastas as well as Aged Goat's & Sheep's Milk Cheeses. The Wine undergoes maceration on the skins for about a week, it is then aged in 45% new wood French barriques for 24 months, and further aged one year in the bottle before release. Sweet, fresh leather, vanilla and dried red-cherry aromas with nuances of tar and wild mountain herbs. The palate has a brisk,
succulent feel with sweeping, sheet-like tannins wrapping the long finish. Drink this from 2022.
(1/2019).
The 2015 Barolo shows classic lines and a beautiful disposition that prizes bright primary fruit and Nebbiolo complexity, especially at this early stage in the wine's evolutionary trajectory. The wine is soft and fruit forward with an immediate drinking style that adds a pretty and accessible element to this straight-shooting Barolo. Here's one for that rib eye you've been waiting for. Some 10,000 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate, 93 Points
