Carvinea is situated in Puglia, Italy, among the beautiful scenery of the Alto Salento countryside near Carovigno.
100% Primitivo from Alto Salento, 70 m above sea level. Soils are clayey and calcareous, with spur-trained cordons in the vineyards.
Extended maceration on the skins for 20 days after fermentation, and aging in oak barrels. Deep ruby red in color. Intense aroma of red fruit and jam with
pleasant spicy notes. The palate is opulent with juicy ripe cherry, currants and spice complemented by well rounded tannins and
extremely soft and supple finish.
Pairs well with Red Meats, Aged Hard Cheese, Tripple Cream Blue Cheese, Salumi, Meaty Pasta Dishes.
