This particular wine is a blend of the following varieties: 70% Sangiovese, Sagrantino 15%, 5% Barbera and 5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Adanti produces this wine near the ancient Roman town of Bevagna with its gorgeous 8th century church. The wine is fermented for 15 days, as to red winemaking standards, it stays on the skins for 4-5 days afterwards and then remains in oak barrels for 12 months before bottling.
In the Glass it’s a bright garnet red with some cherry color reflections.
On the nose it is subtle but rich with aromas of ripe cherries, blackberry, plums and violets.
The Palate is lush with back cherry, wild berries, hints of leather, tobacco, currants and notes of balsamic balanced by supple tannins and bright acidity.
Pairs well with savory and grilled meat dishes, and mature cheeses.
