Tar and roses are the two descriptors most associated with this red grape grown, almost solely, in northern Italys Piemonte region. It can be characterized by by the soft and velvety tannins, high acidity, with cherry and raspberry fruit, and truffle aromas and flavors, Nebbiolo has rightfully earned its reputation as an outstandingly elegant wine. Sadly, the late-ripening varietal is quite delicate and is prone to disease as well as damage by hail that frequently pelts the region.

This beautiful Nebbiolo goes through fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 2 weeks with maceration for 9 days then it goes through a malolactic fermentation and then aging for 12 months in barriques. In Valtellina, the nebbiolo is soft and elegant with silky tannins and a bright acidity. This wine craves red meat but will also pair well with red sauce and pasta.
